For Heaton’s a jolly good Fellow – David earns elite PFS qualification

Our Chartered Financial Planner David Heaton is a pertinent case in point – with the best part of 40 years in the business under his belt.

And we’re delighted that his diligence, talent and expertise have led to a prestigious Personal Finance Society (PFS) Fellowship.

This is the highest possible accolade from the PFS, and David joins Grant Farnell and Ed Painter in holding the title – with David Torkington on the brink of the same achievement.

And since all of our support staff are PFS members, with four recently passing Chartered Insurance Institute exams – we’ve definitely got a wealth of experience between these walls.

PFS

The PFS is a far-reaching organisation that sets stringent standards for our industry. Here are a few interesting stats

• There are approximately 2500 PFS Fellows and 270 under the age of 35
• Around 1900 PFS fellows have also been issued Statements of Professional Standing (SPS) – the certifications required for anyone to legally provide regulated financial advice
• There are approximately 700 Chartered Financial Planning firms nationwide and 5500 Chartered Financial planners

Sterling efforts

While we’re chewing over facts and figures, it’s worth considering the herculean task of obtaining PFS Fellowship through professional examinations.
At minimum, it requires:

• 1620 hours of study time
• 350 course credits
• £3235 in entry fees and study materials

So David’s achievement is no mean feat, and exemplifies his commitment and professionalism.
